12 AFFORDABLE FARMHOUSE SIGNS

I for one love this new trend of the farmhouse decor! Now that I have a house of my own, I have been trying to find good deals on any kind of farmhouse decor that I can get my hands on! Who knew that having a house and decorating it could be so fun?!?! Since it is high in popularity, store are raising their prices up to an unbelievable amount…which is why I have found some farmhouse signs that are affordable and perfect to add to your home!

Some of these are great for the entry way, bathroom, kitchen and the Thanksgiving holiday coming up!

If you are crafty and are willing to put in the time, you can also try and make some of these yourself. I am still in the thought process for this, but coming soon this winter I am going to work on building and designing a few of these my self! But, if you are ambitious enough to make them yourself…all the best to ya!!!

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

SLOW COOKER PULLED PORK

This slow cooker pulled pork is amazing, you just toss in all of the ingredients with no pre-cooking required…my kind of recipe! Who knew that such a small amount of effort could be so delicious! You will have plenty of time to take care of the things you need to do while your dinner is cooking on it’s own.

I am a huge fan of pulled pork and would have this every night if I could…sometimes I do with what’s left over but that’s okay right?!

I’m new to cooking and cooking with a slow cooker but I am loving it so far, the slow cookers meals have been one of my favorites. I am a huge fan of the simple prep, few ingredients and little effort meals! When my husband I got married everyone kept telling us to register for a slow cooker and now I can see why, it is the best thing ever!

SLOW COOKER PULLED PORK

PREP 5 minutes     |    COOK 8 hours     |     TOTAL 8 hours 5 minutes

INGREDIENTS

• 2 – 2.5 lbs. boneless pork loin
• 1/2 onion sliced
• 1 Tbsp paprika
• 1 tsp black pepper
• 2 tsp salt
• 1/2 16 oz. bottle BBQ sauce (or more to your liking)
• 2 cloves garlic, minced or pressed
• 1/2 cup water

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Add all ingredients to the slow cooker.
2. Cook on medium for 6 hours or low for 8-10 hours.
3. Shred the pork
4. Serve on hamburger buns (I used bread the first time since I forgot to get buns!)

And that is the entire recipe! I kid you not, this is such a very easy slow cooker recipe!

ENJOY!

Accepting the Liebster Award!

Accepting the Liebster Award!

Accepting the Liebster Award!

2017 Liebster Award – I am honored to be a nominee!

This could be my new favorite blog post….

In August 2017, not that long ago,  I started a blog called Twenty-Four Carat. I have heard so many great things about blogging and the community it shares and finally had the courage to dive in!  At first I was extremely nervous and yet excited, primarily because I was uncomfortable about what others would think about my writing. I was not the best write growing up and not vocal when it came to sharing my option to others, but some how blogging and writing about my interests that people could read was much easier!

I don’t have as much content as I would like to yet…but given that fact that I have just started, I am looking forward to what the year brings to my blog and what my blog may bring to others!

I would also like to thank Hope Artistry for nominating my blog for this award, what an honor!

I’m am so grateful and honored to receive the Liebster Award 2017

Bloggers get nominated. Once they are nominated, seek out and find new bloggers who have 200 follower or less. (you can help me change that by subscribing to my blog on the right hand side on my blog page) Once they have searched for new bloggers, they nominate 5 – 11 blogs that you feel deserve the award. (Note that you can always ask the blog owner this since not all blogs display a widget that lets the readers know this information!) You can read the official rules at theglobalaussie.com

When Someone nominates you for the Liebster Award you are supposed to answer some questions about your self.

Here are the questions that were given for me to answers :

  1. When and Why did you start your blog?

I started my blog in August 2017. I wanted to share my interests and allow people to read and find easy was to get through life. I read about blogging and the community it has and wanted a change in my life and to really try something new and step out of my comfort zone…which I’m glad I did!

  2. What is your most favorite post you have written so far and why

My favorite post that I have written so far would be How To Build A Two Person Desk. I enjoyed writing this one because it was a fun project that my husband and I could do together and feel accomplished after. This was the first project that I have ever done that involved saws and cutting wood and sanding/staining! It was not only fun to build but also fun to write about!

  3. What is the most extreme thing you have ever done?

When I was on my honeymoon we went on a cruise to the Western Caribbean. One the excursions we did was Snuba, which is snorkeling and scuba diving combined! It was very exciting and a little scary!

  4. What is the best memory that you have while traveling?

Car rides have always been the best memories while traveling for me, always stopping at places (my favorite are the small town diners) and taking scenic detours.

  5. Have you ever visited a place just because you saw it in a book/series/animation/movie? What was that place?

Nope, but I would love to go any one of the tropical resorts that any movie shows!

  6. What is your advice to new bloggers?

Don’t be nervous or worried about what other people think. Write what you feel is important and what you want to write about, believe in yourself!

Now it´s my turn to nominate some amazing bloggers
  1. Christoph from Trendblaze
  2. Christina from Limitless Ability
  3. Lottie from Arty Allsorts
  4. Elaina from Elenathinks.life
  5. Tijana from #thatfitologylife
If you’d like to accept this nomination — and I that hope you do — it’s your turn to write a Liebster Award 2017 blog post.
In your post, please follow these simple Liebster Award rules:
  • Answer the questions you were asked publicly.
  • Tag a number of new bloggers you want to share the Liebster Aware with. Keep in mind that they should have 200 followers or less. Bloggers can be nominated more than once, giving their readers more chances to learn more about them.
  • Create a number of new questions for your nominees.
  • and important: Credit and link back to the blogger who tagged you. (twentyfour-carat.com)
  • For full rules, check out the Global Aussie page, and choose your Liebster Award image there!
Here are my 6 questions for my Liebster Award nominees:
  1. When and why did you start your blog?
  2. What has been your favorite post so far?
  3. What has been your favorite vacation?
  4. If you could be any animal what would it be and why?
  5. What would be your dream vacation?
  6. What would be your tips/advice for new bloggers?
To answer the Liebster rule #3.  Write a 150-300 word post about your favorite blog that is not your own. Explain why you like the blog, provide links.

My husband and I recently bought a house and got married. We have been wanting to make it our own and to do things together that we share an interest for. Having a need for a desk in the office and one that we could both work at together, we decided to custom build yourself a two person desk. It was a great teamwork activity for us and also a great new thing for myself to start learning how to do! I enjoyed working and constructing the desk with my husband and also writing about something I cared about to others! This was one of my first blog posts as well.

I look forward to reading your answers and wishing all the best to you new bloggers!

Melissa
